Research (Time)
These two videos are time talk speeches. The second is Sam Taylor-Wood's "A little Death", the artist used time lapse to film the process of the decay of a rabbit. When I was watching this video, I was shocked about this process. This process should be about one or two month, but Sam compressed it in 4 minutes. Therefore, when I made my Part 1 video, I used time lapse to film the change of the sky and the environment. I filmed in different seasons in one place, so audience can clearly see how the earth changed with the time change.

In "One Year Performance", artist Tehching Hsieh is known for dedicating long and precise periods of time to his fully immersive projects. He spent a year locked in a small cage and thirteen years making art that no one else has seen. For this piece, Hsieh punched a time clock every hour on the hour for a whole year. compressed one year time in 6 minutes. During the year, he hardly slept and punched the time for every hour. The audience can clearly see the changes of the artist in the 6 minutes. He used time as an artistic material and tool. He wanted to talk about the relationship between finite life and infinite time, because whatever you do is consuming your finite life, but time is infinite. In my Part 2 video, I didn't do the same thing over and over again as he did, but I put different things together to give the audience a sense of chaos.
