Yayoi Kusama (2014) “The Souls of Millions of Light Years Away”

This artwork creates with mirrors and LED lights, and Mirrors refraction gives audiences an infinite and boundless sense of space. The audience seems to enter an endless space, unable to find the edge. People fall into a psychedelic world. In fact, this virtual world is the world that the artist normally sees. “The Souls of Millions of Light Years Away” looks like a vast universe. When people walk into this artwork, they will feel their smallness and feebleness. Kusama uses dots and mirrors to change the inherent sense of form, and deliberately created continuity between things to create an infinite extension of space. Therefore, audiences in this space cannot distinguish the boundary between the real world and the dreamland. I like the infinite extension of the world she created. I want to express a sense of infinite extension and interactive in my work when the two person was hiding and seek.
Guoqiang Cai, (2015) “Sky Ladder”
In 2015, artist Guoqiang Cai sent a 500-meter ladder fire into the sky in his hometown. This artwork is a centennial present for his grandmother. This ladder represents Cai’s childhood and hometown. His hometown Quanzhou is the source of his inspiration. In the documentary “Sky Ladder,” Cai said, “I’m looking for a relationship with indivisible forces.” Guoqiang expresses the connection between the earth and the sky, he wants to talk with Aliens. The artwork is not restricted in paper and pen in Guoqiang’s hand. He uses gunpowder instead of a pen, and the sky as his canvas to explore a new art form. Thus, I want to use my website as a media to communicate with the virtual world. Maybe the unknown world is infinity and endless, but I want to make a connection with the different parallel universe.
